National Adoption Weekends

PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend is a three-day adoption event where a large selection of dogs and cats are available for adoption. The fall event is Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13, in all PetSmart® stores in North America. Thousands of pets find their forever homes during PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekends that are held four times each year and we are proud participants. We will be at our local PetSmart on River Street in Santa Cruz on all three days. Please, come join us on this special adoption day and find your forever friend!

Special Events

MEOW LUAU — Participants are invited to come to the Santa Cruz location of Santa Cruz County’s largest animal shelter to meet beautiful cats and kittens available for adoption. During this event, all kitten and cat adoption fees are only $50! All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip (including registration), age appropriate vaccinations and Felv/FIV testing, routine treatment for fleas/worms, and a free pet wellness exam with local participating veterinarians. Also, there will be a featured performance by Michelle Kiba's Ukulele Academy & the Fab Five Hula Sisters.

News 2016

Grants:

Our fabulous grant writer Jenny Wood strikes again! We have received more grants for our lifesaving work from various foundations for 2016.

Petco Foundation has generously provided us with a grant in the amount of $2500

Maddie's Fund has also given us a wonderful grant of $1000

Fun Stuff:

This year we had an added bonus of $1000 by means of our friends at Casa Finkel. They named us as their local charity of choice for their float entry in the Capitola Begonia Festival... and they won first place with their super cool entry. Thank you!!

News 2015!

Grants:

We want to give a big thanks to our grant writer Jenny Wood.  She has been working hard this year to send applications to various charities and foundations on our behalf and the results have been great.  We have received the following grants so far in 2015:

In May the Petco Foundation has given us a grant of $2000 to help with our spay and neuter costs. 

In July the Harris Foundation granted us $5000 to set up a critical care fund. 

In August we also got a $2000 grant from the Harris Foundation for our general care fund.
